Los Scallwaggs European Tour Antics 2018 by Kurt Jons
So the tour is done now, we have gone our separate ways all with minus a few years off our lives. Thirty days straight of partying & good times with not a lot of sleep & 19 back to back shows (I think) in between those thirty days it’s hard to believe it was only thirty, and not a hundred and thirty days!
Europe was where it was at, every show we were fed ridiculously good dinners, even the three of us who weren’t even apart of the band, and most joints free drinks all night. Italy was the weirdest/sickest places the boys played. Playing to full out door dinner sitting areas, playing on a little stage to people enjoying their evening meals, at the same time after every song they were frothing and whistling so much. One night three Italian girls that Lee was friends with Back in Sydney came to the show in Lugo Vicenza. We where having a great night until one of the girls broke her collar bone after trying to do a cartwheel. We camped out next to this canal in the bushes on air mattresses and made a fire, it must have been the tour for it because I dislocated my shoulder getting wood but I was sweet popped it straight back in. We had a hell night sleeping out under the stars.
The best shows were in France for sure, them shows were at the end of the tour where the boys were playing so tight by then, it was so sick to see the evolution of the boys playing from the start to the end of the tour. Second last show was in Paris in the under ground venue call Le Klub, everyone was going so crazy, moshing and crowd surfing, even Joel and Daleo got up crowd surfing. We partied that night and in the morning we walked through the Catacombs tunnels, where all the skeletons of the people affected by the plague were carefully placed along the walls if these tunnels which ran for kilometres. It was pretty hectic. We got a bus on the way to the last show in La Havre where the boys played with Tiguana Panthers, it was a crazy last night and we made the most of it before heading home.
We had a wild experience joining the boys on their first overseas tour, we had so many good times together and by the reactions of the people I guarantee they will be back again for sure!
