What cymbals should I use?
Sort from a wide range on tonality to change the sound of your music. It may come as a clique but I would like to answer your question with the following questions:
I'm a heavy hitter, what cymbal should I use?
MDM, LTD, ALT or ICON series, but maybe consider changing your technique :)
What is the strongest Cymbal?
The LTD and MDM series, are a little thicker.
What cymbals are best for heavy music?
If you're a heavy hitter than refer to the above, otherwise consider, ALT, X series or MBB as well.
I'm a Jazz drummer and like trashy cymbals, what's most suited?
Definitely check out the CLS series as they are quite thin with a fast attack and long buttery decay. Also the X series would suit for a more dynamic sound, fast attack & trashy decay.
What sort of cymbals best suit session drummers?
I would suggest to add a range of sounds, or consider mixing series. Add a combination of X series, CLS, MBB, ICON, and also add a variety of effects like the Thunder and Lightning Vented series.
What cymbals are best for Live Music?
Again you might like to consider the genre but in a heavier lineup I would add cymbals to your setup that can cut through the mix, LTD, MDM, ALT and ICON. Or if playing a church or wedding gig, consider a mix of vented and CLS, and X series.
What cymbals are best for recording drums?
This again also depends on the room, mics, the producer and engineer as much as the drumset itself. You can literally record anything, and if your trying to add that live or garage element you may like some trashier sounding gear. Usually the ALT or X series would be a great fit.
What cymbals are best for rock music?
We recommend to add a mix of either ICON, MDM, ALT, MBB (Blends) and LTD to your drumkit.
What are the trashiest Cymbal you have?
For the category of trash ALT and X series areat the top of the list.
What are the thinnest cymbal you have?
In regards to the thin category, ICON thin, or CLS are the thinnest cymbal series. MBB and X series are up in terms of grams and weight from there.
I'm looking for a bright Cymbal, what's best?
For a bright setup, add MBB, BRT or MDM
What is a vented cymbal?
Basically vented means it has holes in it, visually it looks like Swiss cheese. However audibly it changes the attack and decay, and when used correctly can be extremely dynamic.
What is the warmest cymbal you have?
ICON is very warm, warm attack, warm decay.
What is the cheapest cymbal?
When it comes to price, a handmade cymbal from Turkey is at the upper end of the price spectrum, however at Inferno we are very price conscious and value for money we won't be beaten.
When was the drum cymbals invented?
They date back to around 6000 BC
